      The liver has hundreds of important functions for sure, so it’s quite difficult to narrow which is the most important one. But I’d say, the main function of the liver is to filter blood that exists the digestive system, particularly, from the stomach and small intestines. The liver works to eliminate toxins and remove byproducts that are excreted into bile or blood . Other functions include digestion by emulsification of fats through salts contained in bile, regulation of amino acids, storage of minerals and vitamins among other really important ones.
